Michelle Stafford Speaks OUT About Leaving The Young and The Restless

Word on the street, Michelle Stafford (Phyllis, The Young and The Restless) whom it was recently announced that she was exiting daytime serial has officially addressed the topic via Soap Opera Digest. Here is what she had to say on the subject:


"I would like to personally confirm to the fans that yes, I have decided to leave THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. It has been a glorious 16 years and one of the greatest rides of my life. The constant support and love from the fans is not lost on me. I think I'll miss you the most."


Well it is official now. The actress wraps up her run in mid-June. I am at a loss for words. A loss for words. Rumor has it though that the series might be looking to recast the role. Would you accept another actress as Phyllis? Sound off in the comments!

no recast michelle stafford is the only phyllis but i dont want to lose her either,so if they have to recast we might adjust. maybe michelle will return one day.

I will miss Michelle's portrayal of the zany, feisty, crazy, lovable, sexy Phyllis Summers Newman. She should not be recast because no one, I repeat no one could fill her shoes. Wishing her the best in her future endeavours.

I will miss MS as Phyllis! Many years ago, I believe someone else played Phyllis but I really don't remember who the actress was. I think they should have her go on a long trip or work somewhere away from GC and then after a year or so they could replace ms with another actress if they want to bring Phyllis back to GC.cousin istolfn

Someone else playing Phyllis will be difficult. Recasting has happened before, but Michelle Stafford is BEST Phyllis. Her emmy nominations & wins show that! She will be missed! Y&R won't be the same without her! I hope she changes her mind!
