Time After Time/Soap World

With the cancellation of One Life to Live I feel more compelled to write about the phenomenal cast than ever. Hillary B Smith is one of those Jewels in the 'OLTL' crown.

She has been with the show since 1992 playing Llanview District Attorney Nora Buchanan.

She began  her daytime acting career in the role of Kit McCormick on the Doctors.Then originated the role of Margo Montgomery Hughes on As The World Turns. She was in this role  for seven years from 1983 through 1990. She then went on to  originate the role she is still playing today. Nora Hanen Gannon Buchanan.

Hillary is that blend of tough broad and sweet, sassy, sexy siren and her pairing with Robert S Woods,Bo Buchanan has been one of the great love stories in  OLTL's history. Whether fighting crime or dancing down the aisle to James Brown's piano playing they are the stuff real soap couples are made of. She is mother to Rachel Gannon and Matthew Buchanan. When you ask for a soap heroine you want someone strong and smart and vulnerable and as a friend you can trust as Viki Banks has been lucky enough to benefit from.This is the description of Nora Buchanan.

Advertisement Nora is all of that and more and has been through many trials and tribulations overcoming blindness and a stroke but has always come out stronger and ready for the next chapter in the life of Nora Buchanan. When or if this soap does come to an end we will all be missing a truly wonderful performer and a woman who has become a daily part of our lives and one we will surely miss.

Ms. Smith has appeared  in numerous television shows as well as on the web soap 'Venice' and 'Fumbling through The Pieces'.

She has won two Daytime Emmy Outstanding Lead Actress Awards and five Soap Opera Digest AwardsAll well deserved.

She is married to  Philip Smith and they have two children, Courtney and Philip.
